Computer Generation I

First Generation Computer 1949-1959

The compact easy to use and always reliable machine that we place on a desk and occupies very little physical space, once occupied an entire room full wires.  The First Generation Computers used Vacuum Tubes for circuitry and Magnetic Drums for memory.  The first of its kind this computer was very expensive, complicated and not as reliable due to overheating and malfunctions.

First Generation Computers used a very simple computer language, the lowest level programming language due to its not so advance core.  First Generation Computers did not have the capacity to multitask.  The information input used punchcards and paper tape, the output was revealed on printouts.
